Dr. Christina Skelton is a landscape photographer based in Austin, TX specializing in landscapes of the American West.
Dr. Skelton's interest in landscape photography began when she was a graduate student in the Indo-European Studies program at UCLA-- photography was the perfect excuse to spend time out in nature, away from her books, as well as a way continue her interests in geology and biology. After she received her Ph.D., she became a Junior Fellow in the Harvard Society of Fellows. There, Dr. Wally Gilbert provided the inspiration to turn her hobby into a career.
Her work uses landscapes to explore the interplay between color and texture, allowing limited color schemes to support the gentle visual rhythms of the natural world.
Dr. Skelton lives in Austin, TX with her husband, a handful of citrus trees, and an inordinate number of cacti.
